The Minister of Transport convened a standing bi-weekly meeting between the Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) and the aviation industry on 24 October 2024. This followed a meeting held on 12 September 2024, and an oversight meeting held on 20 August 2024 with aviation entities wherein ATNS was instructed to develop a comprehensive plan that is costed, with realistic timeframes and technical capacity required. The meeting was attended by Aaron Munetsi, AASA's CEO and the industry representatives: Board of Airline Representatives of South Africa (BARSA), Airports and Aerodrome Association of Southern Africa (AAASA), Lanseria International Airport, South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), and Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). -
1 October. Department of Transport: South African Search and Rescue Organisation (SASAR) 2023/2024 Annual Report (1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024) tabled in Parliament. The report covers the administrative and operational activities of SASAR during the period under review including legislative and mandates such as the Convention on International Civil Aviation, International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR), SADC Protocol on Transport, Communications and Meteorology, and National Civil Aviation Policy.​

5 February. Department of Transport News_SACAA announces Ministerial Order regarding administrative support to ASLC and IASLC. The Order places the responsibility of administrative function to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA). The administrative support includes developing effective systems enabling the smooth processing of ASL applications and Foreign Operator Permits (FOPs) effective 1 February 2024.​
